Frequently Asked Questions
-
We recommend visiting Stonehenge from Bath – the drive is much shorter and quicker. Galahad Tours does not operate from London.
-
The Cotswolds is a vast 800 square mile area, so you will see some of its beautiful southern landscape and two iconic villages. If you wish to see more then please book one of our full day Cotswolds itineraries.
-
Absolutely! This incredible, unique monument is Britain’s answer to the pyramids and with our expert private guide you will receive the full story and context.
-
You will walk closely around the outside of Stonehenge with your private guide, Matt, who will answer the burning questions that this famous Stone Circle inspires. We do not offer inner circle or ‘Stone Circle Experience’ tours because these require either a dawn pick-up (4-5am) or late return (10pm) to Bath.
-
There are restrooms at the Stonehenge Visitor Centre, which you can use before and after riding the shuttle bus to the monument. There are also regular opportunities to take a comfort break on the tour.
-
The Cotswolds and Stonehenge are in opposite directions from Bath and distances make it logistically difficult to swap villages. This itinerary is optimised to achieve both in one day.
-
Many people assume that the best way to see Stonehenge is from London but you will fight your way through London traffic at both ends of the day and the drive time restricts how long you actually get to spend there. Bath is much closer and also a beautiful place to base yourself for a couple of nights for exploring.
